Grand Forks Region EDC UAS Sector Development Manager Wes Shover is president of the AUVSI Great Plains Chapter. Shelly Carroll, owner of SC Recon Drone Intelligence in Park Rapids, Minn., is the chapter vice president.
“We are proud to announce the rebirth of the Great Plains Chapter,” Shover said. “This nonprofit corporation will encourage local and regional collaboration to enhance applications of unmanned autonomous systems and technologies.”
The chapter currently co-hosts events including DroneBiz and Unmanning Data Mondays. Members of AUVSI may choose affiliation to the Great Plains Chapter, which represents North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota.
Shover said the chapter will provide information and opportunities for regional resources to impact unmanned technologies nationwide. “The Great Plains region is a preeminent source of industry innovation. The chapter engagement will build on that strength.”
