ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Powering the State and Beyond
Empowered to Lead
Energy and Environment work together to create unmatched opportunities in the Grand Forks region. We may not be located in the Bakken oil fields of Western North Dakota, but due to major research centers, we are at the heart of the energy and environment nexus. Grand Forks is home to three North Dakota Centers of Research Excellence for Energy as well as the United States’ foremost research agency, the Energy and Environmental Research Center at the University of North Dakota. Our focus on energy is diverse with local manufacturers leading the development of green solutions like LM Wind Power.
