- The EDC and UND Division of Research and Economic Development hosted the first Corporate Forum, which featured panelists from agri-business, manufacturing and unmanned systems discussing how they are managing change in their respective industries.
- The EDC welcomed two summer interns to its staff. Bridget West is the entrepreneurship ecosystem intern and Frankie Good, marketing intern. Both are students at UND.
- UAS Sector Development Manager Wes Shover accepted the chapter development award on behalf of the AUVSI Great Plains Chapter during the UAS industry’s largest expo and conference. Under Shover’s leadership, the chapter is advancing priorities that will continue to expand the industry footprint in the region.
- President & CEO Keith Lund was part of a BRIC delegation to Washington D.C. where they met with Pentagon officials and our Congressional delegation to continue advocating for Base missions and strengthen relationships.
- Shover is part of a statewide team selected for a UAS Integration Pilot Program project. Led by the state’s Department of Transportation, the project is expected to accelerate safe UAS integration into the national airspace.

- Business Development Manager Brandon Baumbach has been named to the Northwood EDC advisory committee which reviewis project applications and making recommendations to their board.
- Exhibitor registration for the 7th annual Northern Valley Career Expo opened. Since launching, nearly 10,000 high school students have been introduced to career opportunities in the region. Be part of this year’s Oct. 31 event. More info here.
- EDC board member Jonathan Holth was appointed to fill Dwight Thompson’s term on the City of Grand Forks Growth Fund Committee.
- 30YEARStrivia: The EDC’s articles of incorporation were signed by Michael Maidenberg, Bruce Rampelberg and James Lamb on May 26, 1988. Minutes at the time said, “There is more economic development activity currently in Grand Forks than all the rest of North Dakota combined.”
