The Career Impact Academy will be a collaborative partnership that includes:
- K-12 school districts in the Grand Forks region
- Post-secondary educational institutions
- Private sector Grand Forks region employers
- The Grand Forks region community
High school students participating in the Career Impact Academy will be able to complete their high school diplomas and obtain credentials or credits toward a college degree. Academy training pathways will be open for 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students.
The programs identified for inclusion within the Career Impact Academy are: Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace and unmanned systems, Automotive services, Building trades, Computer science/Information technology, Culinary arts, Engineering and robotics, Health sciences, Precision technologies, and Welding (Phase II).
Connecting Students to Grand Forks Career Opportunities
There are ample opportunities to find your dream job in Grand Forks. Northern Valley Careers introduces sophomores to career opportunities in northwest Minnesota and northeast North Dakota. More than 77% of students indicate they are more likely to pursue a career in this region as a result of attending the Northern Valley Careers Expo.
Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals
Making new connections outside of the workplace can be challenging for young professionals, especially in a new city. The Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals organization provides professional development, volunteering, and networking opportunities for young go-getters in the Grand Forks region.
$3,500 to Offset Your Intern’s Wages
This program is designed to increase the number of Grand Forks internship offerings by helping employers’ workforce recruitment and retention efforts by introducing college students to career and entrepreneurial opportunities in the greater Grand Forks region.
