Grand Fork co-working space to open Dec. 1

  • by

Grand Forks, ND – October 5, 2016 – Evolve ND, a local non-profit entrepreneurship organization, has identified December 1, 2016 as the opening of Grand Forks’ first co-working space. Named The 701, the co-working space will open in Suites C and D on the ground floor of the Old Town Block in Downtown Grand Forks.

The 701 will be open to members who pay a monthly fee to share office, conference, kitchen, and support services. The 701 also has a joint agreement with the Prairie Den, a co-working space in Fargo, ND, so that members of either organization can use both facilities. Members can pre-register for The 701 at http://www. the-701.com.

“Co-working is a work culture that aims to do one thing: bring innovation to the market,” said Brandon Baumbach, Evolve ND Board President. “In Grand Forks, many entrepreneurs work in their own basements, storage units, or garages. We want to embolden these people to start a new adventure and create even more opportunity for themselves and our entire region.”

While The 701 will be funded through tenancy and memberships, several organizations have contributed seed money to get the space up and running, including the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation, the Knight Foundation, JLG Architects, and Wells Fargo. Founding corporate members include Bremer Bank and The City of Grand Forks.

Evolve ND’s announcement was made at the October 5, 2016 One Million Cups at the Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks.
