The Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation has hired Brandon Baumbach as its business development projects coordinator.
Baumbach will work with communities throughout Grand Forks County to identify economic development priorities and opportunities to support business recruitment, expansion and retention projects. He is also coordinating the EDC’s involvement in regional workforce recruitment and retention initiatives and entrepreneurship activities.
“Business and industry growth is continuing throughout our region. Brandon will be key to supporting that growth, assisting communities and businesses with their expansion and workforce needs,” said EDC President & CEO Klaus Thiessen.
Baumbach has more than five years of experience as a rural and international policy advisor, grant writer and advocate with organizations including the Center for Rural Health, UnitedHealth Group, and Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights.
He is active in the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals and is a founding organizer of Evolve ND, a nonprofit that supports entrepreneurship in the greater Grand Forks region. He is also active in his home community of Emerado, N.D., where he is a member of the school board and a founding member of the Emerado Community Development Coalition.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with the Grand Forks Region EDC team, using my interests in community growth and entrepreneurship to collaborate with business and community leaders and help our region continue moving forward,” Baumbach said.
