“One of the most exciting elements of this year’s internships is that eight are in STEM-related career fields,” said Becca Cruger, EDC workforce and strategic initiatives coordinator and InternGF facilitator. “Additionally, five are focused specifically on technology-related careers, which is a key area for job growth in our region.”

InternGF is a unique partnership between the University of North Dakota’s Center for Innovation and the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation designed to introduce UND students to careers and employers in the Grand Forks region, while providing hands-on experiential learning.

“This program has been wildly successful, thanks to the companies who provide opportunities for students in our region,” said Center for Innovation director Amy Whitney. “Programs like InternGF give students the opportunity to think with an entrepreneurial mindset.”

InternGF offers up to $3,500 to offset an intern’s salary or payroll costs. Eligible applicants must be an early-to-mid-stage startup or a member organization of the EDC that can offer an internship not routinely found in the greater Grand Forks region. Startup companies are eligible for a match of 50% and EDC member companies are eligible for a match of 33%.

The following companies along with the career field represented by their internship will receive 2020 InternGF funding:
