Grand Forks Region Top 10 – June 2021

  1. A huge thank you to everyone who came to our 2021 Annual Meeting and celebrated our community’s resilience and future trajectory. We posthumously honored Lonnie Laffen with the Klaus Thiessen Impact Award. Read more here.
  2. A coalition of Grand Forks industry, educational institutions, and community organizations toured Career Centers throughout Cincinnati, OH and Norman, OK to learn about helping students be career-ready and college-prepared. With that, we’re conducting a Grand Forks Workforce Analysis Survey that will help us assess the need for different workforce development efforts. We’d appreciate it if you could participate.
  3. Representatives from Spire Global and Truweather Solutions presented at the first in-person DroneBiz since Covid. About 40 people attended the quarterly networking event to learn about the groundbreaking work the companies are doing in the satellite and weather arenas in partnership with UND’s Research Institute for Autonomous Systems and NASA.
  4. Vantis celebrated the state’s $20-million investment in the unmanned aircraft systems network to expand capabilities to Grand Forks, Traill, and Cass counties.
