  1. Grand Forks Welcomes New Leaders: On June 23rd, Grand Forks welcomed Mayor Brandon Bochenski. We look forward to partnering in Mayor Bochenski’s strong vision to continue the path of economic growth and diversification.

    On June 1st, Andrew Armacost officially began his role as the President of the University of North Dakota. Armacost has already proven he intends to connect talented UND students with the Grand Forks business community and we look forward to his leadership.
  2. The Jobs Development Authority approved loans for start-ups Airtonomy and Tailorie. Both loans enable the JDA to be able to convert them to equity through Simple Agreement For Equity plans.
  3. The Grand Forks JDA also approved funding to create a downtown Tech Hub. The project is being led by community partnerships from public and private entities. The approval allows partners to apply for a federal grant to begin work on the proposed $1.2 million Tech Hub. Learn more about the opportunity.
  4. North Dakota Dept. of Commerce announced a $69 million Economic Resiliency Grant, which expected to open July 24th. Grants of up to $50,000 will be available to businesses to ensure they are equipped to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and inspire consumer confidence. Learn more 
  5. Steffes Corporation is designing and manufacturing decontamination trailers for the State of North Dakota. Trailers will allow limited supplies of personal protection equipment (PPE) to be safely reused. Each trailer can sanitize up to 10,000 masks per day. Full story
  6. Thanks to a partnership with the University of North Dakota flight school, Grand Forks International Airport was the busiest airport in the nation over the month of June. Read more
  7. JLG Architects began construction on a brand new corporate headquarters in downtown Grand Forks this month. Grand Forks Herald story
  8. Registration is now open for the 2020 Northern Valley Career Expo on October 28th. The Expo bring 10th grade students from 13 counties in the Northern Valley region and builds awareness of regional companies and high wage, in-demand careers. Reister here
  9. Grand Forks Awards: Grand Forks was ranked in the Top 10 cities to bike in the nation by PeopleforBikes.

    UND was named best college town in North Dakota by Far & Wide.

    UND ranked as best college in North Dakota for LGBTQ+ Students by Best Colleges.
