  2. The State Board of Higher Education selected Andrew Armacost as UND’s 13th President. We look forward to working with Dr. Armacost as together we promote economic growth in our region. 
  3. Mayor Mike Brown, EDC Board Secretary-Treasurer Karl Bollingberg, and EDC President & CEO Keith Lund traveled to Cirrus Aircraft headquarters in Duluth to visit the company’s new CEO, Zean Nielsen. The team discussed opportunities for growth at the Grand Forks plant, which produces every carbon fiber and composite component of Cirrus’s fleet of aircraft.
  4. Thanks to a rapid response by Job Service ND’s Grand Forks office, “a good majority” of laid off Wells Concrete workers were able to find new jobs after the plant closed in late October. Read more about Job Service’s swift action here.
  5. EDC Business Development Manager Brandon Baumbach completed the Chamber Leadership Class and was nominated for the Mike Maidenberg Emerging Leader Award. Congratulations, Brandon!
  6. It’s the beginning of a new leadership era for Valley Prosperity Partnership, an economic development group focused on issues facing the entire Red River Valley. Marshal Albright, President & CEO of Cass County Electric Cooperative joins the executive committee as a new Co-Chair. He joins existing Co-Chair Steve Burian. Brian Johnson, CEO of Choice Financial Group and Judd Graham, CEO, Fargo Region, of Bremer Bank are the new Vice Chairs of the Partnership.
  7. Austin Mack, EDC Business Development & Marketing Specialist, has joined the board of the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals as their Professional Development Chair. Way to go, Austin!
