  1. Before you leave for the holiday weekend, be sure to RSVP for the 2018 annual meeting, which is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 4.
  2. President & CEO Keith Lund was the keynote speaker at the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals Annual Launch where he highlighted the EDC’s early support of the group’s formation.
  3. Five applications for InternGF funding have been approved to support eight new internship experiences in the Grand Forks area. If you’re interested in learning more about the program, an EDC partnership with UND, download the manual here or contact Becca via email or call 746.2720.
  4. The Valley Prosperity Partnership steering committee met to begin identifying its priorities for the next legislative session. The committee has grown to 30 members with six new companies joining the inaugural members to continue advancing the region’s priorities and positively impact business and economic growth in the Red River Valley.
  5. EDC Marketing & Communications Manager Doris Cooper and Strategic Initiatives Coordinator Becca Cruger  presented an update on the Greater Grand Forks: Way Cooler Than You Think! campaign the Northern Valley Marketing & Communication Professionals at their regular meeting.
  6. UAS Development Manager Wes Shover was was among the lineup of presenters at the ND Military Threat Working Group quarterly meeting at the Minot Air Force Base where he provided an overview of UAS activity in the Grand Forks area and future outlook.
  7. Promoting why Greater Grand Forks is Way COOLER Than You Think!, Strategic Initiatives Coordinator Becca Cruger joined YP Executive Director Corey Mock, hosting a Warm Up to Grand Forks luncheon for new employees at Northrop Grumman Corporation.   10. 30YEARStrivia: The acronym UAV, now synonymous with “UAS” and “drone,” first appeared in EDC board minutes in 2005. Since that time, the EDC has been a staunch supporter and a leader in the development of the sector in Grand Forks and North Dakota.
