  1. Nearly 100 attended an EDC member event co-hosted by The Chamber to hear from UND President Mark Kennedy about UND’s progress and commitment to research, branding, campus improvements and curriculum development. “One of the EDC’s goals is to ensure the region’s business community appreciates and supports the chief opportunity engine for our region and state,” says EDC President & CEO Keith Lund.
  2. Evolve Grand Forks launched the Main Street GF Challenge, introducing nine area high school and college students who have been selected to receive support to implement community betterment projects.
  3. Keith Lund was part of a BRIC delegation that attended the Association of Defense Communities conference in Washington D.C.
  4. The GFK Airport Task Force met to get an update on air travel to and from Grand Forks International Airport and to provide business travel information for airport officials to communicate to airlines in order to help enhance regional air service.

  6. EDC client and member General Atomics announced it will make the first-ever trans-Atlantic flight in July of a remotely piloted aircraft from Grand Forks to the United Kingdom. How cool is that?!
  7. EDC staff joined City of Grand Forks, Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals, Evolve Grand Forks, and Community Foundation in Bismarck to brief the Governor’s office on the community’s efforts on the Main Street Initiative.
  8. Since launching 1 year ago, Greater Grand Forks: Way Cooler Than You Think has more than 2.7 million digital impressions on its website and social media pages. The initiative supports regional employers’ recruitment and retention efforts.   9. The EDC board of directors moved a funding request from Krampade forward to the City of Grand Forks Growth Fund committee for consideration The startup company manufactures a potassium drink supplement that relieves body cramps.
