  1. Along with EDC client BioMass Solution, we celebrated  the groundbreaking of a new 80,000 sq. ft. biofuels production facility in north Grand Forks. We have been working with the company for more than 4 years. Check out this video on the EDC homepage for more about the project and the EDC’s supporting role.
  2. General Atomics and Sen. John Hoeven announced the UAS company will triple its presence at Grand Sky, adding a hangar for flight training and aircraft maintenance, facilities and classrooms.
  3. The Valley Prosperity Partnership hosted a joint presentation at the EDC office with UND President Mark Kennedy and NDSU President Dean Bresciani discussing the impact of university research to the local and state economy. More …

  5. EDC President & CEO Keith Lund joined community leaders to meet with Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson, who was in the region for the UAS Summit, and to witness the first BVLOS flight (see #4).

EDC Strategic Initiatives Coordinator Becca Cruger met with EERC staff, providing resources to incorporate Greater Grand Forks: Way Cooler Than You Think! into their employee recruitment efforts. And employees at Bremer Bank were treated to a COOL Warm Up Grand Forks lunch where they were introduced to the cool assets of the region.   7. Business Development Manager Brandon Baumbach provided the Sertoma Club an update on EDC initiatives and projects impacting growth in the region.
  8. Keith Lund was appointed to fill out the term of a vacated seat on the Economic Development Association of North Dakota (EDND) board of directors.
  9. The EDC board of directors recommended approval of a funding request from Half Brothers Brewing for a line expansion that will increase the company’s capacity. The canning line and tank expansion will more than double their capacity to brew and distribute beer throughout and beyond the region.
