Cruger Named to National Economic Advisory Committee

  • by

Becca Cruger, workforce development manager at the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation (EDC), has been named to the International Economic Development Council’s (IEDC) Young Professionals Advisory Committee. This committee advises IEDC on matters important to young economic development professionals and students of economic development-related disciplines.

“I’m very excited to represent Grand Forks and North Dakota among a diverse group of board members from across the nation,” said Cruger. “This gives me the opportunity to learn best practices from other regions, as well as offer insight on economic development trends in the Upper Midwest.”

The IEDC Young Professionals Advisory Committee recommends programming that is relevant to early-career professionals, assists with communication to this demographic and those interested in supporting young professionals, and provides general guidance to the organization on engaging young people. The Young Professionals Advisory Committee provides an outlet for younger members to become more involved in the organization.

IEDC is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization serving economic developers. With more than 5,000 members, IEDC is the largest organization of its kind. Economic developers promote economic well-being and quality of life for their communities, by creating, retaining and expanding jobs that facilitate growth, enhance wealth and provide a stable tax base
