  4. We learned from NCTC President Dennis Bona at the State of NCTC luncheon that job placement and graduation rates are higher than state and national averages. The College is launching a new service learning program as part of its ongoing focus on student success and community support.
  5. At the invitation of UND President Mark Kennedy, Keith Lund has joined the public sector board of advisors for UND’s Research Institute for Autonomous Systems (RIAS)
  6. Cheers and congrats to EDC client Half Brothers Brewery on the opening of your downtown brewery. The EDC helped the start-up obtain a revolving loan and Flex PACE funds through the Growth Fund to launch the distribution arm of their business.
  7. Keith Lund was recognized by the Economic Development Association of North Dakota (EDND)  at its annual meeting for his leadership as part of their board of directors as he concludes his term.
  8. The region, led by Grand Forks County and BRIC Coordinator Tom Ford, hosted the Association of Defense Communities North Dakota Defense Forum for the first time. More than 100 attendees heard from local, state, and federal representatives about the role the region and GFAFB has in northern tier defense.
  9. Keith provided local SCORE members an update on EDC initiatives and overview of projects and activities impacting regional growth.
  10. Business Development Manager Brandon Baumbach participated in the Midwest Data Hub conference in Minneapolis which focused on the development and application of 21stcentury precision agriculture technologies, including Big Data computation and Unmanned/Autonomous systems.
