  1. We co-hosted a breakfast with Evolve Grand Forks where they recapped an exciting first year which included opening The 701 and obtaining non-profit status. Check out their annual report here …
  2. UAS Sector Development Manager Wes Shover shared an update on the EDC’s business recruitment efforts with the North Dakota Development Foundation when it met in Grand Forks.
  3. Drone Biz continues to draw wide spread interest. December attendees heard from Lee Nordin with Camp Grafton in Devils Lake about the resources available to support industry research, testing and operations. Drone Biz is held the second Thursday of the month for anyone interested in connecting to the region’s UAS industry. Register here for the Jan. 11 lunch.
  4. A project recommended by the EDC board of directors received approvals from the city of Grand Forks Growth Fund and Jobs Development Authority. North Sky Construction received a Flex PACE loan to acquire equipment it will use to manufacture steel studs used for prefabricated kits it markets in the upper Midwest.
  5. Welcome to new EDC investor, First International Bank & Trust, which has recently expanded with a branch location in Grand Forks.
  6. Marketing & Communications Manager Doris Cooper completed The Chamber leadership program.
  7. Through December 31, Greater Grand Forks: Way Cooler Than You Think has logged nearly 1.5 million digital impressions with its regional promotion to support employers’ workforce recruitment.
  8. EDC Strategic Initiatives Coordinator Becca Cruger has joined the Evolve Grand Forks board of directors.
  9. President & CEO Keith Lund put a bow on his first six months in his new role at the helm of the EDC, having been selected to succeed Klaus Thiessen, who retired in June after 14 years leading the organization.
