  1. At its August meeting, the EDC board of directors reviewed and recommended support for 5 projects that could result in more than $87 million in capital investment into the region.
  2. The Grand Forks Growth Fund approved the first Start Up Grand Forks project, a new fund providing micro-loans to help launch Grand Forks’ newest businesses.
  3. Preparation began for the Association of Defense Communities (ADC) Regional Defense Forum to be hosted in Grand Forks Oct. 10 – 11. More information, register here.
  4. Terry Sando was the featured speaker for a Bank of North Dakota meeting with community bankers, discussing frontier investing opportunities in the UAS industry. He also spoke to attendees at the Midwest Airport Managers Association regional meeting.
  5. Speaking of Terry, his last day as the EDC’s Director of UAS Sector Development was Aug. 31. We wish him well in his new role with international UAS company Esmart.
  6. Business Development Manager Brandon Baumbach led a session during the UAS Summit’s student access day, profiling the entrepreneurial opportunities and resources.
