  1. New EDC advisors have started their first terms on advisory board, which meets quarterly with the directors: Dennis Bona, Northland Community & Technical College; Scott Fuller, Retrax; Shawn Gaddie, AE2S Nexus;Jonathan Holth, Toasted Frog; Sean O’Leary, LM Wind Power; Jon Ramsey, Assurity Finance & Development.
  2. The Valley Prosperity Partnership steering committee met with North Dakota gubernatorial candidates Wayne Stenjhem and Doug Burgum to learn more about their priorities and how they align with the VPP’s initiatives.
  3. The EDC coordinated a meeting and Grand Sky tour for Bremer Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Pat Donovan, providing him and members of his local team a glimpse into the UAS growth in Grand Forks County.
  4. Klaus Thiessen and Keith Lund presented an EDC update to Grand Forks County commissioners, highlighting recent projects and noting that the EDC leverages the county’s investment $3.84: $1.
  5. Keith Lund was a speaker at Common Ground, an event organized by the UND Center for Community Engagement designed to strengthen the connection between the Greater Grand Forks community and UND students.
  6. We attended United Way’s annual lunch and extend appreciation to Pat Berger and all the volunteers for the work they’re doing to reduce poverty in the region. We’ll continue to do our part by supporting company and employment growth in the region.
  7. Keith Lund was part of a Economic Development Assn of ND group that met with the Department of Commerce and Bank of North Dakota to review legislative priorities for the 2017 session.

  10. The EDC is partnering with the Grand Forks Regional Airport Authority to look at alternative uses for the FedEx facilities at the airport.
